Does HubSpot integrate with Asana? Setup, limits and cost (2026)
Short answer: Yes. There are two native HubSpot Asana integrations. Asana's own "HubSpot for Asana" app shows deals and campaigns on Asana tasks and creates tasks when a deal changes. It needs a paid Asana plan (Starter or Advanced). HubSpot's "Asana" app adds a "Create an Asana task" step to HubSpot workflows, but workflows need a HubSpot Professional or Enterprise plan. Neither one is a full two-way record sync.
What are the two native HubSpot Asana integrations?
They come from different companies, work in different directions, and have different plan rules. Most teams only need one of them.
| HubSpot for Asana (built by Asana) | Asana (built by HubSpot) | |
|---|---|---|
| Where you set it up | Asana project, Customize > Apps / Rules | HubSpot, Automation > Workflows |
| What it does | Shows HubSpot deal and campaign details on a task; Asana rules create tasks or comments when a deal changes | A workflow action creates an Asana task |
| Plan it needs | Asana Starter or Advanced (HubSpot listing) | HubSpot Professional or Enterprise, any hub (HubSpot KB) |
| Rating on HubSpot's marketplace | 2.3 from 23 ratings | 2.7 from 41 ratings (listing) |
The low ratings are worth a look before you install. Reviews on the HubSpot listing mention gaps such as not being able to create subtasks.
What does the Asana-built app sync?
According to Asana's app page, you can attach a HubSpot deal or email campaign to an Asana task by pasting its URL into a HubSpot field. The task then shows deal details or campaign metrics in a widget.
Asana rules can also react to HubSpot. Asana's examples include creating a task when a deal is created in a given pipeline, assigning a task when a deal moves stage, and adding a comment when the deal amount changes.
In May 2026, Asana announced that these rules can now trigger on more HubSpot objects: deals, tickets, leads, contacts, companies, products and line items. Mapped task fields also update when the HubSpot data changes. The post says this is live on Starter, Advanced, Enterprise and Enterprise+ plans.
What it does not do: it does not push Asana task status back into HubSpot records. Data flows from HubSpot into Asana.
What does the HubSpot-built app do?
It adds one workflow action: Create an Asana task. A common use is a follow-up task in Asana when a deal or ticket closes, as the marketplace listing describes.
HubSpot's knowledge base lists three limits:
- Private Asana projects don't appear in HubSpot.
- The user who connected the integration must be a collaborator on a project for it to show up.
- That same user is added as a collaborator on every task the workflow creates.
How do you connect HubSpot and Asana?
Option 1: from Asana (deal widgets and rules)
- Install HubSpot for Asana from Asana's app page and sign in to your HubSpot account.
- Open the Asana project and click Customize.
- Under Apps, add HubSpot and connect it.
- On a task, paste a deal or campaign URL into the HubSpot field.
- For automation, go to Customize > Rules > Add rule, choose HubSpot, and pick a preset or build your own trigger and action.
Option 2: from HubSpot (workflow action)
- Make sure you have Super Admin or Workflows permission in HubSpot.
- Connect the Asana app from the App Marketplace, or from inside a workflow.
- Go to Automation > Workflows and open or create a workflow.
- Click the plus icon, choose Create an Asana task, set it up, and save.
How much does a HubSpot Asana setup cost?
The integrations are free to install. The cost is the plans they need. Prices below are list price, billed yearly, October 2026.
| Tool | Plan | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Asana | Starter | $10.99 per user a month |
| Asana | Advanced | $24.99 per user a month |
| HubSpot Sales Hub | Starter | $20 per seat a month (new customers are currently offered $7) |
| HubSpot Sales Hub | Professional | $90 per seat a month, plus a one-time $1,500 onboarding fee |
The jump matters. If you only need the workflow action, you are paying for HubSpot Professional. If you're on HubSpot Starter, try the Asana-side rules first.

What about Zapier or Make?
If neither native app does what you need, a no-code tool can. Zapier has ready-made HubSpot + Asana templates, such as creating an Asana task for each new HubSpot ticket. Make has a HubSpot CRM and Asana connector too.
| Tool | Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zapier | Free | $0 | 100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps, 15-minute checks |
| Zapier | Professional | $19.99 a month, billed yearly | 750 tasks a month, multi-step Zaps |
| Zapier | Team | $69 a month, billed yearly | 2,000 tasks a month, 25 users |
| Make | Free | $0 | 1,000 credits a month, 15-minute minimum between runs |
Make's paid plans (Core, Pro, Teams) are priced by credit volume. Check the live page for the tier you need.
One caution: each automated step uses a task or credit. A busy pipeline can burn through a small plan faster than you expect.
When one system makes more sense
If your team mostly connects HubSpot and Asana so sales can hand work to delivery, you are paying for two tools plus glue to move one record between them. For a team of 10 to 40, one system that holds both the deal and the tasks can be simpler than keeping a sync alive.
That is the kind of build we do at FitMySaaS. If you want to check whether it pays off first, the software consolidation guide walks through the math.
Questions
Is the HubSpot Asana integration free?
Both apps are free to install. The Asana-built app needs a paid Asana plan (Starter or Advanced). The HubSpot-built workflow action needs HubSpot Professional or Enterprise.
Can I create Asana tasks from HubSpot on the free CRM?
Not with HubSpot workflows, which need a Professional or Enterprise plan. Asana's rules are the other native route; they run on Asana's paid plans, and HubSpot's listing for that app doesn't name a required HubSpot tier, so test it on your account. A Zapier template is the fallback.
Does Asana task status sync back to HubSpot?
Neither native app says it writes task status back to HubSpot records. If you need that, you will need a tool like Zapier or Make, or a custom setup.
Why don't my Asana projects show up in HubSpot?
HubSpot hides private Asana projects. The user who connected the integration also has to be a collaborator on the project.
